A school design competition celebrating Oban’s role as a host port for the world-famous Clipper Round the World Yacht Race has highlighted the creativity and talent of local primary pupils.

51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council is set to launch a public consultation on a draft visitor levy scheme aimed at sustaining and enhancing the area’s visitor economy and supporting local communities.

Young people, educators and employers from across 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute are set to come together for a major Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) conference at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute, on Friday 26 June 2026.

As part of Scotland loves local week, figures show that the Council’s local procurement spend for 2025-2026 was £71.8m, which represents 35% of its overall spend.
