  11. At 200% zoom and above, the hamburger menu also allows focus to move to obscured elements, resulting in hidden or lost focus.

PDFs and other documents

Many of our older PDFs and Word documents do not meet accessibility standards - for example, they may not be structured so theyre accessible to a screen reader. 

The   don't require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they're not essential to providing our services. 

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents.

We plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Mapping

The accessibility regulations do not cover online maps and mapping services, as long as essential information is provided in an accessible digital manner for maps intended for navigational use.  In the case of the latter, we will provide this information in an accessible format.

What were doing to improve accessibility

We are working alongside suppliers and and colleagues to fix content which fails to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

Testing

This website is tested regularly using the Silktide application. We perform both automated and manual accessibility tests. We use Silktide, an automated testing system, to help us monitor and fix accessibility issues as they occur on www.argyll-bute.gov.uk. Our latest score from the Silktide Index Report (as of 19/1/26) is 99%
