While the Scottish Parliament elections have just concluded, next year communities across Scotland will have another opportunity to use their vote and have their say - this time to elect local councillors, with the Scottish Local Government Elections scheduled for May 2027.

Nearly 1,000 parents and carers in the Helensburgh and Lomond area have already signed up to a new digital service making it quicker and easier to communicate with school at a time that suits busy families.

A host of exciting and innovative community projects have taken a step forward with the news they have been nominated to benefit from extensive grant funding.

A quarter of a million-pound funding injection is set to support an exciting new business and tourist attraction for Mid 51�Թ����App.
At a meeting of the Policy and Resources committee, Councillors gave the green light to an allocation of £250,000 from the Tarbert and Lochgilphead Regeneration Fund to Scottish Canals for the Gleaner Phase 2 project.

A major construction milestone has been reached at 51�Թ����App and Bute Council’s new business park at Oban Airport, with the completion of the steel frame for the main building.

During May and June, designated protected green spaces, managed by the Council, throughout 51�Թ����App and Bute will be allowed to bloom so that pollinators can thrive and benefit our environment.

Community groups across 51�Թ����App and Bute can now apply for funding that has already supported more than 850 local projects since it launched.
51�Թ����App and Bute Council’s Supporting Communities Fund 2026/27 is now open, offering grants of up to £1,500 to not-for-profit organisations working to make a difference in their communities.
