51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute is one of a small number of council areas in Scotland to receive levelling up funding - £20 million – announced in yesterday’s UK Government Autumn Statement.

Councillors have approved plans to boost 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute’s economy by bringing empty business properties back into use throughout the area.

51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council has agreed to additional financial backing for next year’s Royal National Mod (RNM) in Oban.

51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute councillors have approved proposals to tackle the area’s housing emergency by using new Scottish Government powers on Council Tax charges.

A range of measures will help support island communities as the cost of living crisis continues. Financial support for community food organisations, access to free school meals and help to buy essential supplies and services all feature, as part of a £141,000 fund.
