How long have you worked for 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council?
Since Local Government reorganisation in 1996. 

How did you get into your job/career area?
A promoted post became available that offered full training in Emergency Planning and Resilience, and with my experience and qualifications I was able to apply and was successful. 

What does your job involve?
Working in partnership with multi-agency organisations in all aspects of resilience:  Emergency Planning, response, Business Continuity and Risk.  Ensuring that the correct plans and arrangements are in place for key statutory sites and risks across the area.  Preparing and delivering resilience training to staff and working with our communities to encourage them to build on and improve resilience across the area.

Delivering resilience training to staff and partners. 

Best thing about working in 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute?
51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute is a very beautiful part of Scotland and has diverse communities, with villages, towns, islands large and small all with stunning scenery.  No two days are the same for the Resilience Team in 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute.  In terms of resilience this is the most challenging area but definitely the most rewarding.
