How long have you worked for 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council?
I have worked for 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council for 11 years.
How did you get into your job/career area?
My first job within the Council was a Clerical Assistant in a local primary school (Colgrain Primary) then I worked as a Classroom Assistant, progressing to an Additional Support Needs Assistant (ASN) post and following that I worked on secondment for a pilot as a Lead ASN.
I wanted to work in HR as my degree was in Business Administration so when a secondment opportunity came up as an Administration Officer (Reporting & Management Information) I applied for it and worked there for a few months.
I also completed a CIPD Level 3 course, getting better prepared for a job in HR&OD.
When the OD Project Assistant post came up, I applied for it and was very pleased to hear I was the successful candidate for this permanent post.
What does your job involve?
I assist the OD Project Officer in various projects that have a beneficial impact on our workforce, for example the AB Recognition scheme, in which our employees are recognised for the fantastic work they do.
Favourite thing about your job?
The variety of projects and work packages we have and to learn something new every day.

The amazing people I work with and all the great benefits we have for working with the Council like flexibility, great pay/pension and opportunities for learning.
