Dervaig - Calgary - Salen Mixed Recycling - 13/10/25

Due to a vehicle breakdown, we were unable to carry out the mixed recycling collections due Monday 13th October for 

  • Dervaig
  • Calgary
  • Salen

This collection will now take place on Friday 17th October.

Gobagrennan Road - Campbeltown - UPDATED 13/10/25

The road is currently passable but the lorry is still off the road. Another vehicle is needed to unload the cement from it before it can be recovered.

The road will be closed again while this happens.

EV Charging Network - Faults - 09.10.2025

Electric Vehicle Charger Faults

We have some faults across our network of 37 EV chargers at the moment. We are working with our maintenance contractors to have these repaired as soon as possible.

The faults and some details are listed below. You can see the full range of publicly available chargers in 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute (not just those operated by the Council) on the .

  • 53517 Tiree Ferry Terminal – Charger has come to the end of its lifespan and it is not economical to continue to try to maintain it, we are looking at the best route to replace it with new unit.  Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
  • 53518 Community Centre, Coll - Charger has come to the end of its lifespan and it is not economical to continue to try to maintain it, we are looking at the best route to replace it with new unit. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
  • 51510 Tweeddale Street, Oban - Charger has come to the  end of its lifecycle, and it is not economical to continue to try to maintain it, we are looking at the best route to replace it with new unit.  There is another charger at this location
  • 51137 Inveraray - Charger has come to the end of its lifespan and it is not economical to continue to try to maintain it, we are looking at the best route to replace it with new unit.  There is an alternative charger at this location
  • 51143 Fionnphort Car Park, Mull - charger has come to the end of its lifespan and it is not economical to continue to try to maintain it, we are looking at the best route to replace it with new unit.  There is not another charger at this location, all public EVCs can be found via .

Islay & Jura glass collections - 08/10/25

Due to currently having only one large refuse collection vehicle in service, the glass collections due on Wednesday, 8th October will not take place. 

We will provide an update when a rescheduled collection has been arranged. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Coll - Waste Collections 04/10/25

Due to ferry cancellations there will be no waste collections on Coll tomorrow, 4th October. Please take your bins in and an update will be provided once a new collection date has been arranged.

B8035 Kinloch - Gruline Road - Isle of Mull

Closed to all through traffic due to rock falls at Gribun Rocks.

Diversion via A849 Kinloch - Craignure - Salen 

Temporary closure - Tiree Customer Service Point

Tiree Customer Service Point will be temporarily closed from Monday 18th of August as the Service Point officer has taken up a different post within Social Care. We apologise for any inconvenience. Telephone and online services are available. 

The Service Point Office at Crossapol continues to be used by Social Care and limited facilities remain there mornings only to make face to face payments and Blue Badge and cemetery/lair enquiries.
