General waste collections in Cardross scheduled for today, Monday 20th July have only partially been completed. 

If your bin has been missed, please leave it out and it will be collected tomorrow, Tuesday 21st July.

Mull Customer Service Point will be closed tomorrow Tuesday 21st July. Telephone and online services are available. It will re-open again at 9am Wed 22nd July.

Islay - Recycling collections

Due to a vehicle breakdown, we are unable to carry out recycling collections scheduled for today, Monday 20th July in Bridgend, Newton and around the West of the Rhinns area. 

An update will be provided once a catch-up schedule has been confirmed.

Recycling collections - Cowal

Due to a vehicle breakdown, collections due on 20th July on the limited access route in Cowal will not take place. Please leave your bins out for collection on Wednesday 22nd July when we hope to provide a catch up service. 

The affected areas include Tighnabruaich, Millhouse and Strachur.

Recycling collections - Isle of Mull

Due to a vehicle breakdown, recycling collections due on 20th July on the Dervaig-Calgary-Salen route will now take place on Friday 24th July.

Collections due on 21st July on Fionnphort-Iona route are suspended until further notice. Please check the website for updates.

Green bin collections - Serpentine Road and Mountpleasant Road, Rothesay

Green bins on Serpentine Road and Mountpleasant Road will be collected a day later than the published schedule going forward, with uplifts taking place on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays. 

We hope to have the bin collection calendars on our website updated soon to reflect this change.

Road and Footway Closure - East Clyde Street, Helensburgh

The Council is making arrangements for the diversions below to be put in place and for ‘Business as usual’ signs to be put up to support businesses in the street affected.

Diverted from East Clyde Street right onto Charlotte Street and then left onto East Princes Street. Continuing along East Princes Street / West Princes Street turn left onto James Street and right onto West Clyde Street

East bound pedestrians

EV Charging Network - Faults - 17th June 2026

Electric Vehicle Charger Faults

We have some faults across our network of EV chargers at the moment. We are working with our maintenance contractors to have these repaired as soon as possible.

Temporary road closure - Ardencraig Road (Bute)

Due to subsidence on a section of Ardencraig Road, a temporary closure has been put in place. 

An update will be provided once a full assessment has taken place. 

Pedestrian access may be limited when work is ongoing. 

Road Closure B8016 - commencing 9th March 2026

Scottish Water will be undertaking a watermain upgrade along the B8016 at the River Laggan Road Bridge. Work is scheduled to begin on the 9th of March 2026 and is expected to take approximately three months to complete.  

Due to the nature and location of the works, a section of B8016 will be fully closed throughout the duration of the project.
