  • Engagement with 1,054 adults and 408 young people highlighted the importance of play parks in communities.
  • Enhanced safety measures including groundworks and railings
    Renewing equipment
    Access for all abilities

We asked you to prioritise:

  • Enhanced safety measures including groundworks and railings
    Renewing equipment
    Access for all abilities

What the response was

The Priorities were:

  1. Renewing equipment
  2. Enhanced safety measures
  3. Access for all abilities

What was decided as a result of the response

The data received from the consultation response was analysed to provide information relating to:-

  • General age groups of the users for each play park site
  • The priorities communities have raised relating to health and safety/equal access and equipment for users of the play parks.
  • Previous tender processes faced challenges, leading to a mixed delivery model for equipment procurement.
  • An indicative timeline for community engagement and procurement is outlined, in the Play Park Update with installations expected to begin in Spring 2024.

In the process of establishing priorities, further engagement will take place with Disability Forums to ensure appropriate facilities are considered.
